This year all ballots will be cast electronically. You will be able to vote anywhere, anytime, from any device at your convenience.

Advance polls are open October 15, 2018 and voting day is October 22. Make sure your name is on the list, if not you can update the list with the City Clerk after September 4 or attend a polling station with two peices of ID and proof of address during the voting period.

Live Stream Information Session

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, the City of Greater Sudbury’s Election Team hosted two Information Sessions on the 2018 Municipal and School Board Election, with the evening session being livestreamed. The Information Sessions contained presentations from the City of Greater Sudbury’s City Solicitor and Clerk, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Dominion Voting Systems. These presentations focused on key election dates, general campaign rules, voting locations, electronic voting, and roles and responsibilities of candidates, third party advertisers and elected officials. It also provided an opportunity to view a step-by-step demonstration of the electronic voting system to be used in October.

Am I on the Voters’ List?

MPAC’s VoterLookup.ca is no longer accepting revisions to elector information for the City of Greater Sudbury 2018 Municipal and School Board Election, however, electors may continue to visit VoterLookup.ca to see if they are on the Voters’ List. In the near future, the City of Greater Sudbury will post an online tool on its election website to allow electors to see if they are on the Voters’ List and whether their information is accurately reflected.

When and how can I make changes to my information on the Voters’ List?

From September 1, 2018 to October 22, 2018, the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 allows electors to request that their name be added or removed from the Voters’ List or that their information be amended. To make these changes, electors must attend Clerk’s Services (Tom Davies Square, 2nd Floor) or a Citizen Service Centre/Library. On Election Day, October 22, 2018, electors can also visit an Electronic Voting Location. They will be asked to complete an Application to Amend the Voters’ List Form and provide identification
